Any individual who is an Indian resident living in India, irrespective of age and gender, and fulfils the verification process created by the UIDAI can enrol for Aadhaar. The enrolment is just done once but if there're multiple enrolments, then the Aadhaar is generated against one of the enrolment ID’s, others will be rejected as being duplicate. The Enrolment is free and the Aadhaar number that is unique for each individual is valid for lifetime. Residents can avail various benefits and services furnished by banking, mobile phone connections, and other Govt and Non-Govt services with the help of the Aadhaar number.
